Arrivano da Twitter una serie di informazioni relative al prossimo Need for Speed (tutti i tweet in calce). Partiamo dalle parole di Johan Andersson di Electronic Arts, il quale ha dichiarato che il gioco utilizzerà il Froostbite, ovvero lo stesso motore grafico di Star Wars: Battlefront. Inoltre EA e Ghost Games hanno risposto ad alcune domande ricevute dall'account ufficiale del gioco spiegando che non si tratta di un nuovo capitolo della serie ma di un vero e proprio reboot: per quello il suo nome sarà semplicemente Need for Speed e non, ad esempio, NfS Underground 3 (nonostante prenderà alcune dinamiche proprio dal filone Underground NdR). Il team si concentrerà solo sulle piattaforme di nuova generazione, per evitare che uno sviluppo cross-gen possa limitarne la qualità. Infine scopriamo che il primo video gameplay di Need For Speed sarà mostrato in occasione dell'E3 2015.
